Another round of warranty calls

Whoever is behind the “warranty” scam is now onto a new low, they’ll call using a spoofed CID then later call with a VoIP provider.

763-537-7722: A “car/auto warranty” call this number seems spoofed, the recording was of poor quality so a VoIP which allows using any CID(Caller ID) is being used by the scammers.

310-599-9157: Another “car/auto warranty” scam call, call quality was very poor and the sales person hung up when asked for them to stop calling.  The number is a landline from Compton, CA and the provider is Digitcom Services.

Car-Auto Warranty Scams

Filed under: News — staff @ 12:00 pm

These calls never seem to end, last month I had 10 calls per day from the same number or they pulled the unknown caller crap close to every hour. A trend I see is Digitcom is the provider which leads to VoIP usage than an actual landline. Had at&t shut off voicemail as the company kept leaving 3-5 sec dead air or a broken recorded sales pitch to call x number. National Do Not Call effort of the gov’t is as helpful as used toilet paper, there is already an FCC rule where auto-dialers can’t call cell phones as it costs consumers money/minutes and hasn’t scared companies away from breaking that rule(Gov’t should increase fines to say $50,000 per call).

at&t, if you ever read this: I’m not going to pay $36 to change my number, if anything you’ll be losing a customer as this current telemarketer hell seems to be targeting Cingular/at&t numbers than any other carrier. I have a T-Mobile postpaid account while a friend of mine has VerizonWireless and had 0-1 telemarketing calls per month.
