This blog was started as an electronic log of all the telemarketing calls received by friends and family cellphones. Originally it was hosted on a blog site until 2008. The idea started while eating lunch with several classmates, we kept receiving “auto warranty” and other scam calls which were leaving partial messages on our voicemail. Since clearing voicemail requires calling in to delete, it costs airtime as the average person doesn’t have a landline.
The tracking effort also became a testing ground for a maintained blacklist project for Windows Mobile devices, so far the project is pending the official release of Windows Mobile 6.5. Currently the development so far only supports Smartphone Edition found on the Samsung Blackjack I/II, T-Mobile Dash, T-Mobile Shadow and other non-touch screen devices. The touch screen version has been retired from development.
